My Interpretation
There are two key things I noticed during this scene. While, unlike the other clips that clearly show visual effects for being high, this clip stays away from that. Instead, they use the tightness of the shot to portray the same thing. The shot on Rue is an extreme close up and really helps you to sympathize with her while also feeling a bit uncomfortable.
The other thing I notice was the reaction shots of Fezco. Aside from his amazing acting, the light is similar to one of the other clips, a mix of red's and blue's. This is representative of police or ambulance sirens and relates a great deal to what Rue is talking about. These lights and effects are just another tool for storytelling.
